Home Free
The rhythm of the road
A suitcase full of emptiness
Packed, pure as gold
Are the memories that I’m leaving in the mirror
I was just too slow to catch that fast train
For all I know, the race it is done
I’ve been fooling around but now I’ve grown serious
As I’m leaving this town, I don’t know where I’m going
I’ll be turning a corner, as I’m turning my life inside out
And I’m starting to see, this path here before me
Where I’m home free
A calling never knocks
It just punches through every premise
You could be living in a box
Of corrugated cardboard against the wind
I’ll take the blame as some romantic
As I stoke the flames of my new life begun
I’ve been fooling around and now I’ve grown serious
As I’m leaving this town, I don’t know where I’m going
I’ve paid the price now I’m rolling the dice
For the change of renewal
And I’m turning a corner, as I’m turning my life inside out
And I’m starting to see, this path here before me
Where I’m home free
Where I’m home free
