King of the World
If I were king of the world
I would give each boy and girl
A chance at a life starting from scratch
Shelter and food any pain I would patch
They’d be free
Free to explore, freedom to play
If they made a mistake I would say it’s OK
Then I’d cry
If I were king of the world
I’d be sad
My anger I would unfurl
At selfish minds and with rapid speed
I’d wipe every memory of hatred and greed
I’d start right over
Commanding of those who are hoarding their stuff
Stop all this suffering enough is enough
And fear I’d banish
And hunger would vanish
If I were king of the world
If I were king of the stars
We would all know just where we are
Falling around on a planet in space
Just one of a million billion we grace
That we see
Churning and spinning for eons of time
With galactic precision we’ll end on a dime
And from that perspective
We’re one collective
Here we can be kings of the world
If I were king of the world
