Sunshine Valley
Sunshine valley is my hometown dream
We’ve got the best damn football you’ve ever seen
And the prettiest girls strolling down the avenue
Sunshine people are so nice they say
For a stranger come to town we’ll go out of our way
Fill your tank with gas and invite you to our barbecue
You can drive down main street on a Saturday night
To our drive-in theater if you’re in for a fright
It’s a sure fire bet your main squeeze scoots over next to you
You might think I simplify
On the front porch with apple pie
You’ll get that Sunshine Valley high
We’ve got reds and we’ve got blues
We watch CNN and we watch Fox News too
But we know when to shut our mouths under the picnic tree
It’s an 8 day week but we each have a job
We depend on each other and none of us are snobs
Except the Orbisons
There’s just no way to quantify
When every neighbor is a good guy
That’s the Sunshine Valley high
But then there’s always danger, we could loose to the Texas Rangers
And we’d kiss our winning streak good bye
Because we lost and couldn’t crusha, we may as well move to Russia,
Where they say truth is only lies
But no we will prevail, even if we must eat kale
Because we don’t like Russian soup
Sunshine Valley we will rise again
With the proud true middle class American
When there’s no more need for welfare and no more limosines
I just need a truck for this Saturday night
I’m a heading to the theater for a little bit of fright
For a sure fire bet my main squeeze will scoot over next to me
You might think I simplify
But that’s our slice of American Pie
We call the Sunshine Valley high
