Higher and Higher

It’s just a little prayer that I know
It keeps me going when I’m on the go
Lifting me up when I’m feeling low
Like the warmth from a fire

I’ve journeyed far with this prayer by my side
Over many a river with this prayer as my guide
Dear to my heart as it stretches my stride
To all I aspire

It takes me higher and higher. Higher and higher

Bowing my head as I whisper these words
Deep in devotion my soul it is stirred
Knowing that somewhere my voice will be heard
From choir to choir

Where there is kindness there is a way
Obediently listening as I pray
Knowing my place though hard to convey
Brings me higher and higher

The light found in everything
From my breath turning into sky
We all fall to the weight we bare
But as we fall that’s the chance to fly

Awakening to our nature we can sore
That’s why the lamb she sleeps and the lion starts to roar
