Photograph from Heaven
She took off her shoes to feel the pebbles
To touch the cold mountain water
And in the sunshine I watched her smile at me
She was a photograph from heaven
I threw a rock it skipped to seven
Circles spreading in slow motion
She grabbed my arms and pulled me to the grass
It was a photograph from heaven
It happened faster than the speed of light
She pinned me down in shear delight
Just like a tiger to a teddy bear
I couldn’t run, I couldn’t fight
She stared me down while she waited to bite
And I swear I was in heaven
The stars came out to flood the darkness
Shadows flickered by the fireside
The wine we shared beneath the constellations
In a photograph from heaven
It happened faster than the speed of light
She pinned me down in shear delight
Just like a tiger to a teddy bear
I couldn’t run, I couldn’t fight
She stared me down while she waited to bite
And I swear I was (I swear I was 2x) in heaven
Ya, ya, ya ya
Etched within me now are scratches of affection
And like a negative I’m trapped in recollection
A photograph from heaven
