Alone
From my limousine
I’m wondering about the scene
In that car ahead of me
A couple yells and screams
I see it every day
There’s a handsome price we pay
Puttin’ up and puttin’ out
But I know there’s a better way
When I’m alone
I like to be alone
Sitting on my throne
A meditation zone
No talking on the phone
With another clone
Who would only moan
If they found that I was
Hiding here alone
Stiller than a stone
Happy not to be known . . . or famous
I’ve traveled round the world
And I’ve seen what love can do
It’s a self-interested venture
Though they won’t admit that’s true
Mingling is fine
A sleep here and there divine
But closing the door on my penthouse floor
Is where I’m most inclined
