Break That Chain
She’s done all she could to break the shackles
But she knows there’s a reason to hope as the fire crackles
She says Hey Mister can’t you spare a bill
As the traffic light just doesn’t change she stands there still
Life can be fine riding that line
Between knowing too much and too little
It’s built in that you care but only when you’re aware
With one look she poses a riddle
What can we do
To break that chain
Two brothers of the world are conflicted by their pain
He said that he said that he said that he is to blame
They only know what their fathers told them once
That the other side is a ruthless, kindless bunch
But did they ever hear that in everyone
There’s a shimmer of light that shows
Like an ember bound to its destiny
The warmest energy that glows
Where you know
We break that chain
And a chain can be awfully hard to break
But the fire of love can melt and reshape
You forgive and redeem and move on
If we could just all break the way
We cling to the right and wrong
And spread the word like a holy bird
That together we all belong
Then you know
We break that chain
And a chain can be awfully hard to break
But the fire of love can melt and reshape
You forgive and redeem and move on
