Existentialistic Blues
A point in space is only defined by all the other surrounding points in space
If you were to remove all those other points you’d find your point in space is gone.
So what’s the point? It’s that your ego is only defined by the environment in which it was raised.
If you were to remove that lovely environment your ego, well, it would not be there
And everyday, you’ve got a movie running through your head
And when you get bored, you can run the movie backwards instead
And re-live your whole life before your whole life is dead
So cheer up my dear comrade, don’t worry if you get confused
It’s just another case of the existentialistic blues
With nothing to gain, you’ve got nothing to lose.
If you were to perform an unethical experiment of raising a baby in the vacuum of space
You would have to remove the body of the baby because the body makes it not a vacuum of space.
But imagine all you had was the baby’s brain with no eyes, no ears, no mouth, no skin and surely no nose.
With no memory of the past, no notion of the future just an enlightened state of peaceful bliss
What would it think? Am I a boy of blue or girl of pink?
Would it be a surprise, if it got hit by the Enterprise?
Stars upon wonder why am I wondering why?
So cheer up my dear comrade, don’t worry if you get confused
It’s just another case of the existentialistic blues
With nothing to gain, you’ve got nothing to lose.
