My Taylor Weeps
She knew right away that she needed to fly
No you couldn’t hold her back she’d be living a lie if she stayed for you
Hugging good-bye the one you’d never forget
So much of her in you as she boarded that jet to a world so new . . . yet still
Like a river she rides swiftly curling down around you
Her golden lockets springing lightly across your skin
And like a storm she took you under now your tears are turning
Aching for the days when she would nightly let you in
She came to you with her pretty voice and innocent love songs
She rocks the Earth and you know she’s gonna be a star
And you can’t complain as she explodes like a supernova
Shining brighter than the diamonds on her guitar
And now . . . can’t you hear . . . she speaks for you
To the world . . . without fear . . . she weeps for you
As the crowd cries through the darkness a million candles calling
For their princess to appear in glitter she begins
That life’s a jewel and we are strong and underneath all naked
Then like a mistress she politely lets them in
She comes to you with her pretty voice and innocent love songs
She rocks the Earth and you know she’s gonna be a star
And you can’t complain as she explodes like a supernova
Shedding bits of herself like the diamonds on her guitar
She sings: Hey ain’t that you looking past your mirror now
I know it’s simple but its true, if you keep moving you’ll go far
You’ve got a thermonuclear core
So could it be ever clearer
That all you gotta do is shine, shine and there you are
