Perfect World
Why do we have to suffer,
Work so hard each day?
Struggling and fighting as we do
To keep the wolf at bay.
Battered by adversity,
With egos and muscles hurt.
Hope is like the sweetening
In a candy bar dessert.
I want a perfect world
Where all the grass is watered
In a sun soaked land
Hanging out with my friends there
Drinking beer on the patio
Strumming our guitars
Why can’t we have this perfect world
Where all our needs are met?
Is this uncertain place we live in
As good as it can get?
But if all we did was certain,
We never stumbled, we never groped,
This would be such an ugly downer
There’d be no room left for hope.
Chorus
There’s so many questions we can’t answer
And there are many answers that are lies
And you could be real cool or some romancer
Either way you’ll never know but you still try
Chorus
