Recipe For Love
I discovered love, in comic books and movies
Where the hero wins, and the girls are ever groovy
I escape the gray for this saturated dream; Where the
Colors jump from the pages like a candy wrapper
And super powers are the norm not some extreme; Do you
Like my shoes? Well I’m returning them for something better
I discovered pain, when I cut my teeth on dating
I was such a klutz, when I left her there still waiting
Were we both victims of my insecurities? I went from
King of cool to lowliest of lowly jokers
All I need is a virtual girl
The latest pin-up, a sweet sensation for my private folder
Am I some dead-end evolutionary swirl?
I’m so plugged-in I never thought that I could really hold her
I hope you know I’m a decent guy
But your pretty face is TMI, so please
I need a recipe for love
I still have hope
Despite all my dysfunctions
For in the broader scope
We’ve got a possible conjunction
Like two shooting stars now crossing through the sky; We are
Burning brightly from our cores you’ll find the best intentions
If I could be your sweet virtual guy I’d take you
Dancing anywhere within your imagination
We’d seal the night with a casual good-bye then I’d
Stop and turn and pull you close to all my palpitations
A gentle kiss from your lips to mine
A tingle ripping down our spines, I believe
In a recipe for love
Hold, hold me close; Breathe in my breath
Be a part of me; And I’ll be a part of you
Perhaps we’ll make it as some virtual pair; I’ll croon by
Texting words of wisdom from an advising blogger
Here in my youth I was never told of these affairs
To put down the phone and open up to a deeper connection
Maybe when I’m a little older
She’ll rest her head upon my shoulder, please
I need a recipe for love
