Strange Dreams
Strange dream I was walking with an angel
Across the Golden Gate
The fog was rolling in you couldn’t see the other side
She said hurry or you’ll be late
So I laid me down and curled into a ball
And drifted sweetly
It was you handing me a candle
Midnight on the beach (Midnight by the sea)
And in a small pool you were sinking in the sand
Soon beyond my reach (Struggling to get free)
I jumped in after and fell into your arms
We rolled in laughter
Please, don’t fade away, let me feel
All the colors of this dream
Let me return, Let me sleep
Let me keep this ecstasy
Am I looking at perfection
Are you my natural selection
Could we build on this affection
Make a good connection, please.
How could one night be so revealing
Could I finally be feeling
Your touch magical the tension
A sudden comprehension of you
There we were lying in the grass
Gazing at the Sun
You reached out and grabbed the sky
Then we broke into a run
We spread our arms and soon began to fly
Together soaring . . . high
Please, don’t fade away, let me sleep
Let me keep this ecstasy
Chorus (end on feeling)
Strange dreams flowing through my head
Messing with my point of view
A vague sense as I drag from my bed
There’s nothing I can do
The clearest answer I couldn’t see before
Today I woke up . . . sure
