Time Enough to Grow

Growing up is not what it use to be
It’s getting harder to be wise
I know you’re wounded in your heart I see
You’ve every right to criticize
But listen softly as you look at me to blame
There’s just so much to explain

I’m so much younger than my body
Should I deny this and delay
I made a choice and quickly I knew I had to go
I had a gift to give away
The greatest offering like a universal truth
And in return we have our youth

Though we may grow together or we may grow apart my friend
I’ll always cherish every moment. It’s good to see you once again
I know it’ll take time, but there’ll be time enough to grow

I understand the close connection
I understand a sense of pride
But I know the world is one big family
We work together to provide
Rest assured our son has found the perfect place
Where he’s both loved and embraced

A home blooming with love
But for now, I’m a child who’s still dreaming
