She’s Gone
There was a girl I once knew who lived across the alley
She’d come home from work and let her hair down every day at five
She’d let her clothes slip off and in no time I’d see her step into the shower
Kinky little underwear on the floor disappears into the steam
And she’s gone
Ya, she doesn’t even notice
She’s so gone
She slips away like a lotus.
With her hair in a towel she’d turn on the radio looking for sonic paint
Frying up a veggie burger with melted cheese and brocholi just to feel like a saint
Ah hell, she opens up the freezer for a little caramel pecan perfection
She sinks into the sofa as the cream slides down her throat there’s no recollection
And she’s gone,
There’s no emotional rescue
She’s so gone
Denial always gets the best of you
I want you to know, I just gotta say, I need you to be my fantasy
I want you to know, I just gotta say, I need you to be my fantasy
She curls up into a little ball with her favorite little romance novel
She remembers the day that boy across the alley dared to say hi
They struck it on for a while but it just, you know, didn’t seem natural
Those awkward stupid conversations where every subject was, so factual
They could only agree that the best thing for them was to just wait
She flips off the light, drops the book to the floor to master@#!$
She’s so gone
She needs a real reaction
She’s so gone
Searching for satisfaction
She’s so gone, she’s so gone
I want you to know, I just gotta say, I need you to be my fantasy
I want you to know, I just gotta say, I need you to be my fantasy
